River Darent Medical Group Site Dispensing Services

With effect from 31st March on site dispensing services will be consolidated at Braeside Surgery.

These changes will not affect the way patients make dispensary and prescription requests.

Devon Road will open for collections between 08:30-13:00, with a 17:00 delivery for acute item collections. It will also be become a dedicated dosette hub, allowing us to enhance our support for patients who require this service.

Non-dispensing patients will not be affected by this change.

The majority of Devon Road’s dispensing patients live between the two branches and will be able to choose their preferred collection site. Patients will still be able to call either dispensary number.

Additionally, to provide the best possible care, the Duty Doctor and the 'acute team' (Animators and Paramedics) will be moving to Braeside Surgery, while the rest of the GP team and ANPs will remain at Devon Road. Diabetic and asthma clinics will continue to be offered at both sites.

The dispensary teams at both sites work incredibly hard, running two separate dispensaries. These changes will enable the practice to provide a more efficient and seamless service for our patients: by-

  • Reducing duplicate work
  • Improving staffing flexibility to cover sickness and annual leave
  • Optimising stock management
  • Better meeting the growing demand and increased prescription volumes

While we appreciate there have been many changes for patients and for our staff, we would like to take this opportunity to thank them and you for your continued understand and support. Please contact [email protected].
